A truly amazing therapy with so many health benefits 🩵

A beautiful flotation tank in a private, dimly lit, tranquil room. Soft ambient lighting to create a relaxing atmosphere

I-Sopod Floatation Tank

Floatation provides a truly unique environment for your mind, and your body.  Suspended in a mixture of pure organic epsom salt and skin-temperature water, this allows a feeling of total weightlessness and freedom from all external stimulation. Floating has been proven to lower blood pressure and heart-rate, improve sleep and help to reduce stress, anxiety and depression.

It can also provide pain relief for joint and muscle aches, and for those with chronic pain.

Whilst floating it is possible to achieve a really deep state of relaxation and meditation, allowing for the mind and to be totally rested and free from the pressure of our busy lives.

There is an "art" to floating, and by doing so regularly it is something that you will find becomes more and more effective, as you become more able to relax more quickly, and to a deeper state each time.

And what is wonderful is that all these benefits are cumulative, the more you float the better you will feel.

You have the choice of beautiful coloured lights inside the pod (which reflect like coloured stars on the interior above you when you float) or you can choose to turn the lights off completely. There is also a selection of beautiful melodic sounds which can play within the tank whilst you float, or silence if you prefer.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. Who can float?

Almost anyone over 16 years of age!

Except those with low-blood pressure, severe skin conditions, epilepsy or schizophrenia. You are not able to float if you have an ear-infection, or if you have recently had surgery or a new tattoo. Floating can be very beneficial if you are pregnant, however do not attend during the first 12 weeks. If you would like to discuss your suitability - just give us a call. If you have any health concerns we recommend that you take the advice of your doctor before floating. Please note you must be physically able to climb into and out of the tank un-aided if this not the case we are afraid you will not be able to float.

Floating is absolutely prohibited to anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and we reserve the right to refuse entry to Float Zone Reading if we believe this may be the case.

2. What do I need to bring with me?

We provide everything you need, including towels and toiletries. The floatation room has its own luxury shower, which you will need to use before and after you float. It is very important that any cosmetic/hair/body products are removed from the body before floating. If your hair has been dyed recently, please wait 5 days before floating, and please wear the swimming cap we provide. Long hair must be tied up. Please do not shave within 24 hours before your float session, and do not attend if you have any large wounds to the skin. Small abrasions can be covered with liquid band-aid which we will provide for you. So just bring a water bottle!

3. Is it claustrophobic, and will I be nervous?

The interior of the tank is very spacious, and a truly beautiful place to be, much bigger than your bath at home, but in many ways very similar - and we hope you are not nervous when you bathe! So if it helps to begin with, think of it that way?  Furthermore, the "lid" does not even have to be closed if you are unsure and can be set at any height by you during your float, so if you are concerned you are able to keep a gap for your entire float. However, we find that almost everyone feels happy to close the lid within minutes, to truly experience the wonder of floating fully and you can always open it again at any time if you wish.

If you are really very worried, please come with your swimwear, and we will more than happily stay with you whilst you acclimatise, and we are never more than a few metres away anyway.

There is also a call-button within the interior of the floatation tank which will summon us immediately at any time too! So we have thought of everything, and are fully committed to bringing confidence to everyone so that no-one misses out on this life-changing therapy. Please contact us with whatever questions you may have - we are very friendly!

4. What do I wear?

This is a personal choice, some choose to wear swim-wear, others prefer to be naked - we leave this choice to you. The floatation room is a fully private room, with everything that you need. As above though, if you think you may be nervous, please bring your swim-wear so we can be there for you as much as you feel you need until you feel comfortable.

5. How is the water kept clean?

The I-sopod floatation tank is truly state-of-the art, and without doubt one of the best floating systems in the world. The tank is "on" 24 hours a day, and continually runs, periodically removing 100% of the tank water to filter/clean/disinfect and heat the water. Then at the end of every float session the tank automatically goes through a 15 minute cleansing cycle where again all the water is removed, filtered, cleaned and returned to the tank. Furthermore, the extremely high level of pure organic magnesium and sulphate rich Epsom Salts (over 500kg within the approximately 1000 litres on water in fact!) creates an inherently sterile environment.
